- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend webinars and seminars for both AHA and RAD Systems. I attend an annual RAD conference when I am able. I have also participated in Krav Maga. What I teach is similar to level 1 of Krav Maga.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into this strictly by accident. While working at Belmont University, I was in charge of crime prevention and training. My boss thought it would be a good idea to send me to a training to be able to teach students self defense. I was reluctant because I do not have a martial arts background, but I fell head over heals in love with this program - RAD Systems for Women. It became a passion for me, my favorite part of my job. Years later, I also became a CPR instructor and fell in love with that as well. When I decided to move back home to Texas, I decided to take what I loved about my old job and create a business.
