The roof turned out fantastic! The new color shingle really brings out the house more than the previous roof. You can actually feel the temperature difference with the extra ventilation. Thank you for doing what you said, when you said it would be done! We appreciate your professionalism."

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Make sure theiir home office is local. This advice is especially important after a big storm such as a hurricane where out of town storm chasers fly in for a fast buck. We do a ton of repair work fixing mistakes where the original roofer cut corners on and now they cant be found. A roofer that will provide you with quality craftsmanship is one who understands that a solid roof is the result of a system of intergrated components, all working together to ensure long lasting performance and protection of your home. One that understands the value of not only their time, but yours. Doing things correctly and according to manufacturer specifications, prevents time consuming call backs and aggravation.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. We think a customer should be well informed of the importance of the types of underlayment or felt as more commonly known. This is the black tar paper that is installed on a roof prior to the shingles and come in 200-1000 foot rolls. This underlayment is critical to the waterproofing characteristics of any roof. It is the first layer of protection from water intrusion. This material is made to be earth friendly so in turn is biodegradable and begins to break down after a period of time. It is available by weight classes of 15 and 30 pound all the way up to the top of the line synthetic class.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. We feel it is important to remember that we now live in a time where a good ol' handshake is not a way to do business anymore. As a consumer, you should see previous work of the company you choose to do business with. Ask for the addresses of not only previous work, but of jobs completed a few years back. This not only verifies their years of existence in your community, but gives you a chance to preview their craftmanship. Dont be afraid to knock on the door and compiment the homeowner on their roof. A happy customer as much as an unhappy customer, will tell you all you need to know about their experience.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. We feel the most important should be quality of work and a willingness to guarantee your satisfaction with our craftmanship. Our clients have the peace of mind knowing that we have taken the time to educate ourselves on the best type of materials and installation methods in the industry. We realize that in order to ensure our longetivity in the roofing industry's highly competitive market, we have to stay not one, but two steps ahead of our competition. We feel we are un-matched when it comes to investing time in continuos education, product knowledge, and innovation. We take great pride in our work, that's what has made us who we are today.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We honestly feel we do the best work in the area and are at the top when it comes to find new and innovating ideas to offer our customers better service. We admit that other roofing companies were established before Avalanche Roofing Contractors, they may advertise more than us, but they won't out work us when it comes to craftmanship. If we have to completely tear off a new roof and suffer a loss, we will untill we know that our client is happy with our work. Our work and our customer satisfaction is un-matched and we will continue to go over an above to maintain that position. Our jobs are left clean with debris and nails picked up.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The people we serve. We get a great deal of satisfaction helping homeowners make an educated desicison on one of the most important remodeling projects of their home. It is not easy to find good information nor is it as simple as taking someones word for it. We provide facts and samples of the name brand quality materials we use to give our customers peace of mind knowing that their roof is a solid component. It is too expensive of a project to later find out it was not done properly and even more to not be able to find the contractors to back up the warranty should one arrise. We invest in education or roofs so we can provide the best in our industry.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. We feel is most important to do as you say and deliver. Your heart has to be in your profession in order for you to be great. You do not want to be mediocre and blend in with the rest of the ones who are satisfied with nothing. When your heart is truly into something, it's no longer a job. It becomes a passion and you seek to perfect and strive for greatness. You will be meeting with homeowners who have never met you in their life and anything you say, you must deliver or face being discredited. Business as much as personal trust is vital to any relationship and must be treated with great care.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Avalanche Roofing Contractors greatest strenght is our people. We give extra praise to our craftsmen who have been with us since 1998 and bring more than 30 years of roofing experience. We pride ourselves in offering a skilled trade by professionals who know the meaning of quality at any cost. Doing exeptional work has kept food on our table and our customers raving about us. On every project we find tid bits to go over and beyond and I feel that is trully appreciated by all of our customers. Every project is different, but we always find a little extra to ensure our customers complete satisfaction.
