Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. My most common clients come to me for weight loss. They of course are focusing on just their weight and I educate them that weight gain is just as much a symptom as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes.

I help them attack the cause(lifestyle habits). We can focus getting the weight off, but it won't be the right way. The right way is acknowledging your lifestyle isn't balance and making the changes within your lifestyle that will put your body back in balance. When the body is in balance so will their health, weight, and mental clarity.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. With over 13 years of experience changing peoples lives, Coach Ryan has learned a lot and the one thing that he has adopted through his experience is "mindfulness". Coach Ryan has an innate ability to read peoples bodies and see what needs to be balance.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I have been helping people increase the quality of their lives for the past thirteen years and every minute has been rewarding to me. We are humans and pleasure is something we innately search for and feeling great and healthy is pleasure. When you are at optimal health daily life is more enjoyable. You can do more, laugh more, and express yourself more.

To get my clients to that level of optimal health is by far one of the most rewarding things for me. And you can see it in their faces, the way they walk, and talk.

When it comes to my athletes it is awesome to see how they progress in their conditioning and becoming the best athlete they have ever been.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. What I wish customers knew about me is that I am more than a personal trainer that helps you get into shape, but a health and wellness coach that helps promote health from the inside than out.

Everyone's health starts at a cellular level and when we can attack our health from that microscopic level we can reach optimal health.

I am a holistic trainer that focuses on lifestyle habits. It is our daily habits that lead us either to optimal health or dis-ease. Your body is always looking for homeostasis, and when we can live our daily lives according to how nature intended us then we can reach optimal health and be sick less or not at all.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have been lifting and exercising seriously since I was in sixth grade. I was neck deep into bodybuilding and fitness books at the age of twelve. It wasn't until after high school, while working at my local YMCA as a weight room staff, that members were taking my advice and thanking me for helping them achieve what they never thought was possible.

It was then that I knew I found my calling...and that is increasing the quality of peoples lives. As I became more educated in health and fitness the more I shared what I learned with people and the more they shared with their friends. It's kind of a pay it forward concept.
