Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Every couple should look at several different vendors before making any choices. Keep an open mind and ask to see full weddings from the photographer's portfolio. Look for the strengths in their shots and make sure you really like their style. Ensure that they are experienced, dedicated, and passionate about making your portraits unforgettable!
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. It is a really big help to have your venue planned before calling a photographer. Some photographers have travel fees to cover hotel and gas expenses, (especially for out of state weddings) so it helps us to know where we would be shooting your beautiful event.
Also, talk about how many hours of coverage you think you will need from the photographer and how many guests will be attending. Events over 250 might require a 2nd photographer during the reception if you want a lot of pictures of your guests.
Do you want an album? What about prints? Most brides have a large framed print from the engagement or bridal session which is mounted and framed at the entrance to the reception. How nice do you want your album to be? You could buy one yourself and just slip the photos in, or you can have your photographer design you a glass covered coffee table album that is made in Italy! Talk to your partner about album budgets as well.
Every photographer has a different price range, but don't book one solely based on budget. Make sure your photos will be as incredible as the love you and your partner share. :)
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Deanna has been around photography since she was born. Her mother became a wildlife photographer, and her devotion to the craft rubbed off on Deanna as a young child. But unlike many photographers, her education didn't stop there....Deanna took several years of photography courses in high school, getting top placements in district shows. She then went on to major in Fine Art Photography at Louisiana State University, and worked for 3 different well known wedding photographers for 5 years before starting her own company. Deanna not only has the eye, but the experience, dedication, and passion for the craft as well.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I really get a kick out of meeting new couples. I get to hear the funniest stories, see the most genuine tears, and watch people giggle and kiss while doing what I love to do- make unforgettable memories for generations to remember. I love to see the look on the groom's face as the bride walks up the aisle to him... the mother's tears as she helps to fasten the dress.... the little flower girls and ring bearers paused in fear in the middle of the aisle... hearing the one of a kind vows that tell the tale of each couple's journey together.... I love how everything comes together to make each day a very special story.
