  • As a billing manager or business owner, you should be running Summary A/R reports monthly by payor and overall totals. Are you balancing cash posting to bank deposits or EFTs? Do not post ERN/EOB until payment is received. – Nov 10, 2010 at 8:21 pm

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you are a health care company collecting less than 70% of your A/R, do not wait 6 months to call for help. There will be some lag in system conversions but NOT 70% or less. The timely filing limits are too short. Make sure you are booking contract rates for all payors so you don't over-state A/R. Need some guidance on your collections, let us help.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS & PUBLICATIONS

Medtrade Spring & Fall 2005, Spring & Fall 2006, Fall 2007 & 2008 Listen

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Publish monthly compliance newsletters including articles on regulation changes, company requirements, and continuing compliance education.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. You should look at timely filing limits & write off claims that are obviously over the limit for that payor. Spot check some but claims that are 1-2-3 yrs old with 180 day filing limit, it's gone! Focus on current real CASH. If car is stuck in mud, continuing to put it in drive mashing gas w/repe...ated tries is wasting gas if you are not looking for something solid to go in front of tires.

Q. Write your own question and answer it.
