A. You don't have to be a model to be beautiful! Happy, relaxed people always photograph well.
A. Know what you WANT from your photo shoot. If you are wanting to start a modeling portfolio, your shoot may be a bit different than that of a basic "lifestyle" session. Communicate with me to let me know what you are hoping to achieve with the results.
A. I love that I am constantly meeting new people and sharing in a small piece of their life. Whether it is a single conversation I share with a senior on their day of their shoot, or a continuing relationship I build with a family as their children grow, I can look back at my portfolio and remember each and every one.
A. I actually have lots of favorite stories! It amazes me how many people have never liked a picture of themselves. I have had seniors come kicking and screaming to a photo shoot only to find out they really ARE photogenic! I love hearing the responses and showing each and every client just how beautiful they are.
A. It is a lot of work! A lot of people think that an hour or two of shoot time is all a photographer does... it's much more than that. After a shoot, I spend hours carefully color-correcting and balancing each image that I give to you. I tweak contrast-levels, hide blemishes and whiten teeth to make sure you only receive the highest quality work.
A. I really love art- just about every aspect of it. I am a professionally trained dancer and have an absolute appreciation for performing and visual arts.
Growing up, I spent much of my time drawing and painting portraits. The subject of my artwork was always people, and I always tried to capture relationships and emotion in my fictitious subjects.
It wasn't until I picked up my first DSLR that I realized what an amazing story-telling tool a camera can be! I was immediately hooked on the realism and the time-stopping abilities of my new friend; the rest is history!
A. I am ALWAYS reading and researching ways to improve my work! I obsessively read respected photographer's blogs to see how they achieve a particular "look" or effect and search books and articles for information on how to more efficiently use my equipment.
