Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The most common thing I do is hang tv's, run new electrical outlets and new HD feeds.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Keep in mind that a contract is not over until customer education is complete. Always evaluate the companies communication skills. Teaching new technology or functions to people is very hard, so choose a company that you think will best teach you.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Be aware of any product that says HD1080i.Televisions come in 1080p or i but most are p. The p is for progressive and the i is for interlace. Any t.v. that is 1080i is actually 540p, the 1,080 lines of resolution are processed 2 at a time making the tvs true resolution 540.Always buy 1080p.You have been schooled enjoy...

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My workers and I have 13+ years in this field. Our finished product looks better than most companies and does not hit your pocket book as much.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love this field of work, I love new electronics and love telling customers about them and how they make every day life easier. I pride myself in knowing about all electronics and how they should be installed and cared for.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What can I do to better my media and how much will it cost me?

I inspect their system and tell them how to better it, as for the cost I tell them not as much as you think.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. PLEASE!PLEASE! Never hire an electrician to do your media or wiring, in the end you will pay more than you should have.( I must add this happens more than you think but no more than 15% of my customer base.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. My most recent continuance was re-certifying on fiber splicing and terminating. Most of my continued education is done through classes and field work as well as prepping for certification exams.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. 1 week contract with Greek Pizza shop off of Sawdust rd. in Spring. We mounted 4 tvs all High Definition, five new speakers, Sony 7.1 surround, optoma HD projection system with 120 inch screen. I supplied 4 tv mounts, projector, surround rcvr,speakers,120inch screen,HD switch, and all the wire needed for the tvs to be HD. ( cost $5,250)

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Learn every piece of electronic that you think customers will enjoy.Never give up no matter how much you know there will always be some electronics that will give you problems.( understanding and installing as well as operating).
