FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have always tried to stay caught up on the latest artistry in photography and how to better my craft. I read a lot of books and credible photography websites, and photographers also learn from each other. There are also seminars and day classes I like to attend that come around occasionally to my area. Those are especially good to take advantage of. I also try to learn something with each photo shoot and apply it to the next one so my work just keeps improving.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Being a photographer is something I have wanted and strived to be since I was about 11 years old when my parents gave me my first camera. I started off mostly photographing landscapes and architecture. I've always love the idea of taking an ordinary scene and making it look like art. As I grew older, took more classes, and learned and grew as a photographer, I decided to branch out and do more artistic subjects, and later, portraiture. While I still enjoy photographing landscapes and interesting buildings and miscellaneous objects, I have found a new love in portraiture. There is something so joyful about capturing families' happy memories. It's a pleasure to be hired, and I don't take my job lightly because I know whatever work I do will be kept and hopefully loved forever.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common types of photo shoots include family, children, wedding, engagement, bridal, and maternity, but I also occasionally get hired for other special events you want captured such as birthdays or other celebrations.
