Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Transmission rebuilds and diagnosis

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Make, model, engine size etc. Although alot of people are interested in building hot rods, custom jobs are always welcome, but if a custom job is desired please know what you want ie: how many speeds, standard or auto etc.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I offer a transmission repair and or build for less than half the cost of any shop around and always stand behind my work.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy the felling of knowing I can begin changing the general opinion most people have of " mechanics "

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Since we're not as big as "normal shops" how can I afford to do the job and do it well? I have a strict process to diagnose and repair accordingly. Most of my work comes from "word of mouth".

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I used to build hot rods and usually always needed some kind of transmission repair or advice, and when I called any of the shops around to get some info they always told me to bring it in.Me being a do it yourself kind of guy I always asked if they could just tell me how to fix it or even share with me what could cause this issue and still I received the "your gonna have to bring it in". This frustrated me and I decided to learn about the inner workings of a transmission from a friend of mine and then people saw what I was doing and wanted transmission repair or rebuilds for themselves.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. I had a man who wanted to change a 1971 chev to 4 wheel drive and make it a 4 speed so I found the axles and tranny and all the supplies involved and did the job for him for only 1600 which is a great price to make his dream truck a reality.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Dont be discouraged when you run into problems and always give yourself enough time to do the jobs.
