Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Beware. Especially the out-of-state companies that come into Utah; Claim they have a buyer for your business and then want up front fees to do a business valuation. So many times I have came across these so called "company", and after the Seller paid $5k-$15k, they never hear from the "company" again about the so called "buyer". And to add insult to injury, 9 times out of 10, you can divide the valuation by 3 and this is the true market value. I have questioned myself so many times, "Why would they so grossly over value the business?" The only thing I could come up with, is that, to make the Business Owner feel Good about paying their fees thinking that their business is worth more than what it really is. Everyone wants to be told their business is worth millions.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Clues if you are being contacted by a legitimate company or not.

Business Name. They hide or don't actual show. You cannot find the name in searches anywhere. (fake name) Can't find a business license in Utah or the state were they claim to be from.

Out of state phone numbers. Cannot not reverse trace the phone number to find out who they are.

Check with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). This is probably not their first victim. They are hard to track down because they jump from state to state and come back under different alias names.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask to see a picture ID and a Utah Real Estate license

Ask for prove of SOLD comps. (talk is cheap)
We back up what we say. You are welcome to come by and see all the Businesses that have SOLD through Business Resource Center.

Ask for referrals.
We are more than gladly provide letters of recommendation and Seller referrals. In fact, 75% of our business is still repeat or referrals from our previous clients and customers.
