Introduction: We train singers to go beyond simply having a great voice. While we teach one of the most sought-after vocal methods that absolutely delivers results, we know that to make it in a music career, one must stand out among the crowd. We help students find out who they are as artists, teach them how to connect to the lyrics they sing and help them stay in the best shape possible. We also offer our professional recording studio, on site as a place for students to create demos to showcase themselves and/or work on entire solo or group albums for release on iTunes and the other various online music retailers. Most of all, we foster self-confidence through all aspects of training at The Performer Studio. Students learn how to use a microphone well, understand basic staging principles and uncover their own star potential through various self-exploration exercises. I love helping singers expand their abilities and reach places vocally beyond what they've even dreamed possible. I enjoy watching the growth of each student as both a performer as well as a person. I also thrive on the kind of inclusive and diverse environment that we've cultivated here at TPS. Our students make life-long friendships here and develop self-confidence through the un-wavering support from their peers. Beyond their artistic growth, watching students increase their self-esteem makes my job a dream come true.

Working with Kait is an absolute dream come true! My daughter has been training and performing with Kait for one year. She had the opportunity to be a part of the "Tribute to the Beatles" where she performed a personally arranged version of "With a little help from my friends" that was amazing! She also performed back up and participated in group performances as well. The show, which was written, directed and arranged by Kait was spectacular and truly showcased her musical abilities from start to finish. My daughter has also had the opportunity to perform in smaller and more intimate settings where she has experimented with different music genre's and styles. She worked with Kait in December and made her own CD of Christmas music! Kait's infectious positivity inspires each of her students to realize their own potential and gives them the opportunity to risk and grow as a vocalist. Kait is an amazing role model both personally and professionally...it is truly a blessing to have her work with my daughter!

I was 18 when I started working with Kait. I searched online for a singing teacher, and she looked pretty good. I met with her and set some goals. She as very welcoming of me, even though i was a complete beginner to singing. I really enjoyed her approach to it all. I especially liked her focus on strengthening you diaphragm and abs (I had a six pack after a couple months). The performances she puts on are extremely fun. she had photographers come, a stage built, and the acoustics were great. She had a makeup artist come in also.My voice improved a lot in the time working with Kait. My confidence in singing improved just as much. The name of the place is the Performer Studio, which is exactly what it is. You focus on vocal performance, but also stage presence, and how to put on a good performance. She was my ideal teacher. If you are unsure about a teacher, I highly recommend Kait. After just an interview/ initial meeting you will see all she has to offer. Hmmm what could improve? I have been through so many teachers. Some good and some bad. Kait is the vocal teacher you hope to find on that journey. Not only is she a phenomenal singer, she has a great talent for understanding what you want/goals in a lesson. She knows the voice and I think that is the strongest quality in a vocal teacher. Thank you Kait, you are wonderful to work with.

Kait has helped me in so many ways, and not only by greatly improving my singing voice. She has improved my stage presence, my acting choices and how to be more natural onstage. Beyond the performing aspects she has taught me about life as corny as it may sound. She has really helped through hard times and given me a more positive outlook on life. FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First lesson is $50. One time lessons "here and there" are $50. Weekly lesson fee works out to be $45 per hour for students who come each week at the same time and who purchase 4 or more lessons at a time. Our group courses range from $15 to $500. Some are longer and some shorter.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know each student, their abilities, experience level, goals and personality. I ask that students sing something for me at their first lesson so that I can see how they use their voice and what vocal habits they may have that may need changing in order for them to reach their fullest potential as singers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Acting from The Actor Training Program at the U of U, an MFA in Musical Theatre Performance from San Diego State University and have done years of post-graduate work with top-notch vocal teachers and performance coaches in Los Angeles. Currently, I stay connected to the voice, it's health and anatomy, vocal research and findings through local and national vocal societies and centers.
