Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. First of all to make sure that the artist has insurance. My second advice would be to see samples of their work. Its always great to see a website with pictures of the artist and their work along with past jobs they have done.
But the most important thing would be to hire an entertainer that uses FDA compliant PROFESSIONAL face paint such as paradise, snazaroo, wolfe fx, diamond fx, and TAG.
If you are able to see them at a public event thats even better because you can actually see them work.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. That although face painting, balloon twisting and other services seem expensive, you need to know why. Did you know that insurance can run about $200? Face paints can run anywhere between $8-24 per color depending on the color and size. Also, training classes with "masters" and run about $150 for a one day class or $200-400 for conventions not to mention traveling costs. Plus with the rising costs of gasoline prices traveling farther distances may result in higher prices.
Although I can average about 12 faces per hour I can sometimes do more, but then I dont do as much details or add gems which takes time to put on.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. 1. Do you have insurance?
2. How many faces can you do an hour?
3. Do you have sample pictures of YOUR own work and not samples of other peoples work that "looks" like yours?
4. What type of paints do you use? (proceed to google the product or feel free to email me)
5. How many designs can you do?
6. Are you available for xx day and xx time?
7. Do you offer any packages or add ons?
8. Based on the # of kids that will attend, what do you recommend?
