A. I would advise the customer to take a careful assessment of items that need to be moved and convey that information as precisely as possible to the prospective mover. Then, the mover can give a fair price where customer will be most satisfied.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. When leasing moving trucks, it is always important to know how many miles you are traveling and the approximate weight of your furniture. In doing so, you will get the proper size truck for the move, thereby saving money.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What is the rate? Is it per hour or a flat fee? Is there a surcharge for jobs involving stairs? Can you provide adequate men for the job? What size truck would it take to move a certain amount of furniture? Are you insured, licensed, and bonded? Are you available. How flexible can you be if changes need to be made to my schedule or amount of items that need to be moved--with an understanding that extra money might be charged?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The buyers should have a definite date for the move. The customer should also consider what they want moved so that the mover can give an accurate estimate for the job.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What a like most about my job is watching the customer change from a nervous state initially to becoming totally relaxed and satisfied with their move upon completion of the job.
