Introduction: I am Kimberly Roberson, owner and lead artist of Beauty Soiree, LLC, and I am a professional beauty artist with over 11 years of experience. I specialize in bridal and special event, TV/commercial HD production, and editorial and runway hair and makeup. My work has been featured on Fox 5 (DC news), LA Fashion Week, Bluloft.com, and various TV outlets. I have a client list that includes (but not limited to) various high-profile public figures, such as the USDA and Project Runway winner, Seth Aaron Henderson. I enlist a team of highly-trained and highly-skilled makeup artists and hairstylists to provide beauty services for large event parties or projects. My lifelong objective is to make the world look and feel beautiful, one face at a time. Kimberly is a phenomenal make-up artist! She has a plethora of experience to include fashion shows, weddings, and business photo shoots. I've used her for many of my social events including my own wedding, parties, and more recently on my business photo shoots. Whether you want something edgy, artistic, or just an everyday look Kimberly will make sure you look flawless and beautiful. Aside from her amazing skills, she is fun, personable, is passionate about her craft, and has a generous soul. If you want to look your best for your big event, I would highly recommend Kim. She is the most talented make-up artist that I've ever worked with bar none and will deliver more than you ask!

Kimberly did my makeup for my wedding, and it was perfect. I don't regularly wear makeup and I had never had makeup professionally done before, so I was worried that I would look overdone or that I wouldn't look like me. I just wanted a simple natural look for my wedding, and Kimberly got it absolutely right! It was still me but a more polished beautiful version of my self. Kimberly was fun to work with, very professional, and she was also really good at keeping me calm. She also encouraged me to start filling in my eyebrows a little, since they're very light and a bit sparse naturally. She even showed me how to do it, and which products to use-it was really easy and makes a big a difference, I think it makes me look younger and frames my eyes better.

First, let me start off by saying that Kimberly is not doing my makeup and hair for my wedding in January 2015, but I thought I should leave a review. Because I have a 2 day (2 looks) wedding, I had a my first part of my trial with her last week, and she did an ammmmaaazing job. She asked a lot of questions to understand what I wanted, and the end result was better than I expected. In fact, my fiancé loved my look so much he couldn't stop staring at me when I got home. So now to why she's not doing my wedding, Kimberly is a one-woman show and she did say she has a team, but their calendar books up FAST. Too fast that another bride beat me to the punch and got her contract in faster than I did because I took too long to commit (like 4 days). She did tell me that she had another bride interested in the same date but she hadn't signed her contract yet at the time of my trial. Kimberly informed me of this as soon as it happened, and I was bummed. I offered to pay more if she could cancel the other contract but she said she can't because once it's signed, she's committed to the bride. But she did scout out another person to do my hair and makeup me so I don't have to worry about looking for another artist and I hope it goes well, my standards are pretty high after having Kimberly do her magic on me. Word of advice: if you have a trial with Kimberly and are pleased with your look, book her on the spot before someone else swoops in and signs on the dotted line. I didn't want to knock off a star just because she couldn't save my date, she deserves more stars for all the work she put in for my trial. I have pretty bad skin with acne scars and I'm red like a tomato and I have thick wavy hair, and so the fact that she took the time to make a look work for me is no reason to knock her for. I just hope the other artist can do the same.

Whether it's a certified makeup artist or a self-taught makeup artist, the best thing to look for are their sanitation techniques and their in-person transformations. Photographs are almost always photoshopped these days, so make a well-informed decision the makeup artist after a consultation. Not to mention, a makeup artist's customer service and professionalism should always be fair whether it's an A-list celebrity or a 15-year-old girl about to celebrate her quincinera.
