FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you like their style of work. Look at examples, talk on the phone and make sure their is a connection. This can be particularly important if you are hiring a photographer for a wedding. You will spend many hours with your photographer and sometimes your photographer will be directing the event for part of the time.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
My profession is fun, but not always glamorous. When I return from a wedding, I am completely spent and sometimes need a full day to recover physically and emotionally. The stress of holding a camera up to your eye for hours on end is enormous and keeps my chiropractor busy. Some of my favorite photos are when kids are not smiling. When they are serious or contemplative I believe you can see more of their personality in their eyes. Please do not ask your kids to smile when a photographer is working with them. Nine times out of ten it leads to a cheesy smile. Our job is so much more than the hour or so with the client. I tend to be a perfectionist so spend many hours behind the computer for every hour in front of a client.
