I just did a shoot with Maggie this past weekend... she herself was wonderful as were the pictures. We took around 300 pictures and she had the online gallery up that evening... when she says that she takes care of things fast, she means fast!! Both before and after the shoot, emails were usually returned with 10 minutes of me sending... I can't say enough about Maggie and her work. I look forward to working with her again in the future.

Maggie is by far one of the exceptional photographers I have worked with! Her vision is an inspiration to our nation's veterans and sheltered pets- depicting the true love that both have for each other without words. I would highly recommend Maggie's employ over and over, again.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. The types of jobs I am hired for most often are portraits, whether it's infants, babies, children, or the whole family. I also do a lot of actors' and models' headshots.

I'm doing increasingly more weddings and events this year, and hope to continue the trend!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My work stands out because I don't have a standard "formula" for each of my specialties. A lot of photographers will capture, for example, a family in the same position, same style, same location each time they create a portrait. I like to explore different locations, and tailor my suggestions and direction toward the client and what they look and feel most comfortable and happy with. This makes the client feel more at home, which always yields better results!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love working with people! Every person presents their own beautiful and unique experiences during their portrait session, and I love to capture their uniqueness.

I also love working with kids. Kids are so much fun to photograph because they are always exploring and have these amazing expressions of wonder and happiness on their cute faces!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. I am frequently asked about my turnaround time. I generally have same or next day turnaround for portrait photography sessions. I like to edit while my mind is still fresh from the event, so when you hire me you can expect that I'll edit as soon as I can!

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I photographed a great wedding a few years ago--it was a couple who had been together for years, and have a daughter together. They decided it was finally time to make it official, and you could feel the excitement that the three of them were finally becoming an "official" family. Their daughter was so excited about her parents getting married, and the pictures show it! The bride was so happy and giggling the entire time. There were no jitters, just a bunch of elated guests and a great time!

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. When I was 13, one of my photos was published in the Washington Post as part of their travel photo contest. I realized that I was both good at photography and enjoy it, so I pursued it and eventually became a professional!

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. I recently photographed a newborn baby who was only just over a week old. He was very fussy and we had to take multiple breaks for feedings and cuddles, but I still managed to get some amazing shots and the session turned out incredibly well! I managed to show myself and my client that I don't need a whole lot of time with a subject, even a difficult subject like a new baby, to make beautiful photographs.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. I would suggest that someone who's interested in becoming a professional takes as many photographs as possible! Don't limit yourself to one industry--when I was starting out I wanted to be a fashion photographer, but after working with a few babies and families I fell in love with the family photography industry!
