I have been taking lessons with Hiroko for nearly a year, and working with her has rekindled my love for playing piano. Hiroko is an extremely gifted teacher, and her lessons combine rigor with patience, creativity, and humor. I took lessons during my childhood and teenage years, but hadn’t played seriously in nearly 20 years. We began by building back up basic fundamentals, both through exercises and pieces; thanks to Hiroko’s approach to teaching, within a few months, I was playing more complex pieces than I ever could before. She curated a series of pieces from different composers to start off, then once she understood what I enjoyed most, tailored what we played to my favorite composers and styles. I have an unpredictable work schedule and she has been so kind and flexible with scheduling, and when we do meet, it is a highlight of my week. I can’t recommend Hiroko highly enough!

I had the pleasure of taking piano lessons from Hiroko and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Hiroko is not only an incredibly talented pianist but also an exceptional teacher. Her patience and flexibility are truly remarkable. As an adult student with a busy schedule, she was always willing to accommodate my needs and tailor her lessons to my pace and schedule. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn or improve their piano skills.

Spectacular piano teacher! Learning from Ms. Hiroko has only been a pleasure. The lessons that are taught are well thought out to be exactly what is right for you, as she does an amazing job tuning them. She will do everything in her ability to help you learn and appreciate piano! As someone who has been hesitant to learn from a teacher, I fully recommend Ms. Hiroko!

Before we came to Lezhnev Piano Studio, our son had a teacher who was terrible (long story) that we decided we had to leave before he began to not like piano. Then came Lezhnev Piano Studio, Ms Hiroko is kind, encouraging, understanding, patient, flexible, and supportive. She made our son likes piano again. He now practices on his own accord. He actually just loves playing and enjoys making progress with playing now. He's gaining confidence in his skill and actually proud of the progress he makes. All these are because of Ms. Hiroko. We couldn't be happier.

Details: 14 - 17 years old • Yes, the student can read music • 0 - 2 yrs of formal training • Classical • Yes, the student has a keyboard • 60 minutes • At the pro’s location

My teenage daughter started lessons with Ms. Hiroko about a year ago, after her former teacher quit teaching in the early days of the pandemic. We were so happy to have found Ms. Hiroko. She’s a wonderful teacher, so thoughtful and kind, and very invested in the development of her students. In the past year, we’ve been through the ups and downs of the pandemic, we’ve dealt with the Delta surge and the Omicron surge. Through it all, Ms. Hiroko has been cheerful, respectful, flexible, and so patient with finding the right music for a budding young artist. She always teaches with her mask on. She has been quick to switch between zoom and in-person lessons to adapt to the rising cases. My daughter thought we had found the perfect teacher. She convinced a really good friend to join the studio earlier on. Both girls have been enjoying taking lessons with Ms. Hiroko, and they just had a lovely recital with the other students this past Sunday. It was so nice for Ms. Hiroko to put together such a wonderful recital at the Lyceum for her students. She worked so hard to prepare for it. If you’re looking for a piano teacher, look no further. Ms. Hiroko is the best in the Arlington/Falls Church area. Thank you, Hiroko-san!
