Great People, Great Attitude, Extremely Professional. Thank for your Passion for Excellence.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Most people want flyers made or wedding videos to be recorded. I get asked a lot about my photography services, but since non of my clients in the past have allowed me to post their wedding photographs online, my videography services sell much more. Another common type of job is business card design or slideshow creation.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Be very specific. I want to be able to offer you the exact services that you need, but in order to give you that, I need specific details about what you want. I deal locally and am willing to meet face to face free of charge to get a feel for your style and what it is that you are looking for. This is why you have access to my personal cell phone number. I always contact within 24 hours of a phone call, text message or email--don't be shy!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I strive for excellence! A lot of people in my line of business, they just try to get the work done as soon as possible to satisfy the turnaround time. I advise my clients that if what they want is speed, they may risk reducing the quality of work. When you sign the contract, expect that even if I am swamped with work from other clients, I will be up late at night editing and putting together what you want so that you receive it on time and on point!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love simply being able to create masterpieces, works of art, to share with the world, or even just a small part of it. I think that sharing my talents with others is exactly what I was meant to do in life, and I intend on continuing to do so for a long time. I also find it to be a lot of fun--it is truly my passion!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I wish customers knew how much time it really takes to edit a video or edit photos to perfection. It could take over 10 hours just to edit a 5 minute video--I know because I have done it! But as a perfectionist, I did not mind putting in the extra work to a performance DVD, a wedding video or a whole slideshow of edited photographs. Quality matters and that is what real professionals in this line of business are selling: quality.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I was making short recap videos for this small church in Montgomery County when all of a sudden the church merged with another much larger one. The overseers saw my work and, during the short time of my unemployment, I started volunteering and learning this new, much more advanced way to produce videos. I fell in love with videos and camera. I still work for this church as one of the only two videographers, video editors and video producers as well as one of two graphic designers and a freelance photographer.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Make sure you let your client know by written word and verbal word what your terms and conditions are. Having a legally binding contract will save you a lot of trouble and even prevent you from a lawsuit down the road. Some customers will be unsatisfied even after a great finishing product and they will demand refunds--even after offering a redone video, they will still threaten to take you to court, despite your efforts to satisfy the customer.
