Introduction: Coach Adriana is a PTR certified instructor with the ability to help players of varying skills improve their technique, footwork, strategy, and mental game. She has been coaching tennis to juniors and adults since 2002. She is also the head coach at First Serve Tennis Academy. She values every opportunity to be a mentor and role model working to promote a positive, safe, and player-centered learning environment. As a tennis coach, I’ve been teaching at Kim Grant Tennis Academy in Palo Alto, California and volunteered for a day at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in New York. Coached at the Fairfax Racquet Club in Fairfax, Virginia & Tuckahoe Tennis Club in McLean, Virginia as an Assistant Head Tennis Coach. As a certified tennis coach, Adriana been teaching for the past 20 years helping juniors win Orange Ball tournaments and getting them accepted to play tennis on their high school varsity teams all over the entire DC metro area. Adriana is offering fun private, semi-private and group tennis lessons, hitting only sessions for all ages (kids, teens, adults, seniors) and for all skill levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). So whether you need to work on some specifics like your forehand, backhand, volley, serve, service return, overhead, drop shot, approach shot, footwork, singles strategy or doubles strategy-I would be more than happy to help you out with your tennis game!

Adriana is the best coach you could find in NOVA area! She’s professional and passionate about tennis. We had both semi private sessions and group sessions with her and the experience was fantastic! She excels in coaching for three important reasons: 1) she’s encouraging: I’m sure I was not doing anything right in the first few sessions but she’s encouraging comments let me fall in love more with tennis! 2) she’s professional: Adriana knows both how to play tennis well and how&why to use each part of the body to achieve better performance. She demonstrates how to hit the ball in the best way and why we should hit the ball in this way. I have never seen this with any other coach! 3) her coaching sessions are full of fun: she incorporates many interesting small games into her coaching sessions which both help me improving in techniques and keep the sessions engaging. I’m so glad I chose to work with her since this summer!

Adriana has a great mastery of the game and can transfer this knowledge well to juniors and adults alike. She is very patient and also has several group classes she can involve you in. I have taken half a dozen private lessons from her and would highly recommend her.

Before meeting Coach Adriana my daughter had several mediocre experiences with tennis, but she did not really like it. Only Adriana managed to get her interested in this sport and enjoy every practice. Over the year my "not-a-morning-person" kid gladly wakes up early every Sunday to play tennis with Adriana. This amazing coach has it all: professionalism, puntuality, flexibility, patience, personal aproach to every student, fun and effective instructions, leading to visible improvements. At last but not least, both kids and adults just adore Adriana's cheerful and super friendly personality, which, as a magnet, attracts people to this coach. I highly recommend Adriana as a tennis coach for students of any age and level. She will make it "click" for everyone.

Adriana was a top junior player so she certainly has the game. But she is also very sweet and makes it fun. I will definitely use her again when visiting the VA/DC area again. I highly recommend.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The customers should know that the private lessons and group lessons are tailord towards their goal. There's a discount price if you purchase 10 hr as private lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A typical process for working with a new student, is as a first lesson is an assesment which means going through technical, tactical, as well as mental. I will asses the players technical motion, how well the player is handling points under pressure from a mental point of view, as well as how well the player is building the points for hitting winners from a tactical point of view.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do have a B.S. Sports Science with specialization in Tennis Trainer and P.E Teacher as well as staying up to date in terms of tennis , by attending the PTR International Symposium and connecting with former top players . Beeing an former Certified International Coach by GPTCA , I do attend their Workshops around the world and connecting with former great players such as Claudio Pistolesi and Alberto Castelani as they are ATP Board Members together with Toni Nadal.
