I run a private business in Centreville, Virginia. I hired Search First several years ago for advertising and to redo my website. They did both -- fantastic! My website is great, always getting compliments. And the marketing -- well let's put it this way, I get calls or emails every day and have tripled my business.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Get references! There are many companies providing local SEO services and managing pay per click campaigns. many of them have limited experience or provide bad customer service. Get at least 3 references.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. How search engines work. Many customers get frustrated with SEO work because they either don't see proper reporting or don't understand why we do what we do. Understanding how search engines work goes a long way in building a great client/provider relationship.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Consumers should know who they are dealing with. often times, Googling the business name, or the owner's name will tell a great story about experience and background. Do your homework and ask background questions.
