Introduction: I started playing violin since age of 7 and was classically trained in South Korea, Canada, and in US. I graduated from University of California San Diego, with degree in violin performance(2010), and have taught violin for over 15 years. I have experiences in working with kids of all ages, all levels.
I’m also a music therapist so I am able to better assess my student’s needs. I tailor my lesson style to fit each student’s personality, strengths, weaknesses, and goals- to optimize the learning experience and help my students find joy in playing violin.

Jen is a wonderful teacher, always patient and encouraging. She has command of the violin and pedagogy. Her love of music and teaching is evident in how she takes the time to carefully guide our son through his lessons. He learned so much from Jen, and loved taking lessons from her.

Kate is AWESOME! She has helped my teenage son for about 3 years and completely fixed his posture and sound quality. My son used to feel pain and ache due to poor posture but now that it's fixed, he is able to enjoy playing violin. Also we love listening to him playing with improved sound and musicality!

She is patient, genuine, and works incredibly well with kids! And I really like that she focuses on fundamentals and basics of violin… which I think are SO crucial when first learning to play an instrument.

She has helped my 9 year old daughter so much! For years we had hard time finding the right teacher for her- there are many professional violnists out there, but it's always diffcult to find someone who "teaches" well. Kate has incredible passion for teaching and she's been so patient and genuine with my daughter. Thank you!
