- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Off-farm parties (at any location) are $125 for one hour and $50 per additional hour. On-farm parties (which include a full farm tour - meet our chickens, turkeys and pigs!) - $175 for 3 hours and $50 per additional hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to keep reservations simple: date, time and location of the event and the birthday boy/girl's name. We will contact the party organizer the Monday/Tuesday before the event to confirm the details and review any weather issues.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have owned, ridden and trained horses for 13 years. We started pony rides about 7 years ago as a favor to a friend with a "horse crazy" little girl. We loved it, it was a great way to get the horses out of the practice and show ring and also provided a little income for an expensive hobby. We have 2 horses that we use for our pony rides: Rat Butt, a 16 year old half-Arabian gelding, who has been shown since he was 5 by adults, teens and children both locally, 4-H and breed shows. He loves kids and babies; he wants to nuzzle them and lip them (we discourage this, but he thinks he should nibble on everything around him!) and rub on them. He does not understand personal space. At all. Khashmire is our second horse. She is a 22 year old Arabian mare. She was a 4-H horse for many years, but was retired about 4 years ago due to a leg injury. We like using her for pony rides because it keeps her active without putting too much strain on an old injury. She is less interested in the kids and more interested in any carrots that may be laying around.
