This is an enterprise that does not respect your time or money. Here is my experience. They cancelled the master class in Ashburn with barely two days of notice and expected the students enrolled in Ashburn to take the master classes in Herndon. They refused to schedule a regular class or refund for students unable to take the master class in Herndon scheduled mostly at 4:30 p.m. Upon exchanging several email and finally on a phone call, Ms Leanne kept on harping "It's not our policy to refund. If you cannot take the class in Herndon that's up to you." Pathetic customer service, total lack of respect for people's time and greedy business sense. I would have given zero stars if possible.
The Music Loft, LLC's reply
Dear Gem, I apologize you were dissatisfied with our customer service. Our Ashburn location was newly opened in September. It was made clear to our Ashburn clients that a minimum enrollment of 5 students was necessary in order for the classes to hold in that location. We make decisions to hold or cancel classes as early as possible in order to give students enough time to choose another class. Furthermore, a refund was not offered because Master Classes are an important part of our commitment to providing a well-rounded music education to our students. We believe that the opportunity to attend multiple classes lasting 60-90 minutes in length, one out of eight weeks in a semester (offered at 4:30, 5:00, 6:00 or 7:00pm on weeknights and at 11:00am and noon on Saturdays) is both unique and essential to our students' music education. Again, my apologies, and TML wishes you all the best in your musical endeavors. Ms. Leanne

This place has been great since it opened. My daughter takes Guitar lessons at the new shop and really likes her teacher. The facility is nice, clean and small and makes for a very comfortable environment while waiting for the lesson to be completed. As a bonus, when a teacher is sick they are very good at pulling talented and skilled substitutes which has not been our experience at other lessons. My daughter is learning fast and loving the experience.

The Music Loft is a fantastic place to introduce your kids to and encourage their love for music. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are like family. His teacher Laura is very knowledgeable and great with kids. My son always looks forward to his weekly lessons, and because the centralized lobby is so inviting, so do I.

The staff at The Music Loft is a wonderful group. The winter recital was so very enjoyable. Leanne, Laura and Jason did such a wonderful job putting it together. The kids were so adorable! I'm so happy that my child has the opportunity to learn in such a nurturing environment!

I have been taking my daughter to The Music Loft for piano lessons since they opened in October 2010. This is a "different" kind of music store. It is all about teaching students with all else taking a back seat. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating when schedules need adjusting. Often I spend the whole 30 minutes waiting for my daughter conversing with Jason in a very relaxed atmosphere. I'm contemplating starting lessons here myself later this year

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

The Music Loft staff, management, and faculty are offered several opportunities for professional development. Management attends regular marketing and technical repair training, computer application training, and program-specific training (such as Kindermusik). Additionally, The Music Loft is constantly in conversation with professionals in closely related fields such as pedagogy, childhood psychology, and educational research in hopes of offering specialized clinics to our faculty. Soon, TML will present a clinic with a pediatric psychiatrist who will be teaching our faculty how to more effectively communicate with and teach students with special needs.
