About The Music Loft, LLC

The Music Loft provides unprecedented service to music educators and students in the Northern Virginia area.

We offer a wide variety of group and private instrumental music lessons, a preschool music program, a rental program for band and stringed instruments, books and accessories for sale, an Instructional Resource Center unique to the area, and an on-site recording studio.

We have performing space on-site, and we boast the largest soundproof lesson studios in town.

    My son has taken bass guitar lessons at The Music Loft since it opened. He loves playing and always looks forward to his lessons because his teacher makes them fun. The teachers and staff are all so engaged and engaging and obviously love their students. The facility is brand-spanking new and clean and beautiful. Keep up the good work, The Music Loft!!

    I have been taking my daughter to The Music Loft for piano lessons since they opened in October 2010. This is a "different" kind of music store. It is all about teaching students with all else taking a back seat. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating when schedules need adjusting. Often I spend the whole 30 minutes waiting for my daughter conversing with Jason in a very relaxed atmosphere. I'm contemplating starting lessons here myself later this year

    The staff at The Music Loft is a wonderful group. The winter recital was so very enjoyable. Leanne, Laura and Jason did such a wonderful job putting it together. The kids were so adorable! I'm so happy that my child has the opportunity to learn in such a nurturing environment!

    The Music Loft is a fantastic place to introduce your kids to and encourage their love for music. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are like family. His teacher Laura is very knowledgeable and great with kids. My son always looks forward to his weekly lessons, and because the centralized lobby is so inviting, so do I.

    This place has been great since it opened. My daughter takes Guitar lessons at the new shop and really likes her teacher. The facility is nice, clean and small and makes for a very comfortable environment while waiting for the lesson to be completed. As a bonus, when a teacher is sick they are very good at pulling talented and skilled substitutes which has not been our experience at other lessons. My daughter is learning fast and loving the experience.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. The Music Loft provides personal service not only to music students, but also to music educators. We hand deliver supplies and materials to school music directors, repair our own rental instruments, and offer the best benefits to our private teaching faculty. We believe in providing Instruction and Resources that will last a lifetime.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Seeing the joy and satisfaction on a student's face when he or she successfully completes a piece that was challenging.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. The Music Loft staff, management, and faculty are offered several opportunities for professional development. Management attends regular marketing and technical repair training, computer application training, and program-specific training (such as Kindermusik). Additionally, The Music Loft is constantly in conversation with professionals in closely related fields such as pedagogy, childhood psychology, and educational research in hopes of offering specialized clinics to our faculty. Soon, TML will present a clinic with a pediatric psychiatrist who will be teaching our faculty how to more effectively communicate with and teach students with special needs.
