The Skål ethos as I understand it, is to do business with friends. With almost 17,000 members is 400 clubs in 87 countries it is essential to the global Skål movement that each local club remain vibrant and engaged with their members. The challenge for local clubs is that we live in a time where people do more with less free time, we need to make every point of contact with our members count. That is why when I was asked to oversee the rebuilding of the Skål International New York website, I focused on building a responsive site that allows our members to sign up for our events, stay engaged with the club through public and private posts, learn about our history all while simplifying the back office management of the club. Im proud to share our new site with the world and I know it would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the very talented team at 828 Technologies.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We would rather be great at a few things than good at a bunch so we pick a few areas to focus on, stay current, and are constantly doing both third-party training as well as self-help to improve.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Our President, Stephen R. Horton Jr. was one of the first to work on the World Wide Web back in the mid-1990s working on the first online banking with Navy Federal Credit Union. The collective team then worked on projects like Black and Decker and the Statue of Liberty and decided to build a Lifestyle company and serve small business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Building small business websites and helping them manage and market those sites.
