Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We’re best known for installation of prefinished hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles in residential properties.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you are looking to find a good contractor, I always suggest having them come out to your home/location to get a better idea of the work you’re wanting done. Make sure they explain their process for installation, as well as time frame for the work. We recommend you view pictures of their work from previous projects and ask for references. A good contractor will discuss the steps to complete your project in detail, as well as answer any questions you may have to put your mind at ease so you can make an informed decision when choosing them as your contractor.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. As a customer, it’s important to know what a typical installation price might be for a similar project. Prices will vary, however you want to be sure that if you’re paying a premium price, it’s for a higher quality of work and outstanding customer service. Not all work is created equal! Secondly, it’s always helpful to have an idea of the correct installation process. Having familiarity with the project, you can avoid choosing a contractor that is simply taking shortcuts to finish the job quickly. This will also help ensure you’re comparing projects appropriately when looking for the best value. Lastly, our biggest recommendation to finding a reliable contractor is through great references and seeing their previous work.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. It is always helpful when a customer has a vision of the outcome they would like to see, however we’re happy to help with every step of the process for all projects. If a customer is interested in new floors, we can help with the decision making process for the appropriate material that’s best suited for that space. Once we have seen the space, we can determine the square footage for the customer, which will aid them in determining how much of each material they will need to purchase (i.e. paint, tiles, hardwood, etc.)

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. It’s simple - we take pride in what we do and know that EVERY detail matters. From the moment we meet a prospective client, to the minute we reveal the finished project, we treat the property as if it were our own and ensure that every last detail has been addressed. We don't view our projects as work, but as an artistic creation in your home! We always take our time, pay close attention to detail, make sure nothing has been overlooked, and make sure our customers are completely satisfied prior to leaving the job site. When it comes to customer service, we go above and beyond to make our customers happy!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. There are so many wonderful aspects of my job that I love, however the highlight would have to be the grand finale when I show the customer the completed job. The expression of happiness from the customer is a simple reminder why I love what I do. There’s a great satisfaction from seeing an old floor or empty room come to life!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Q: Where should I go to find the tile/hardwood I'm looking for? A: We always supply our customers with recommended distributors in their area. Once the customer makes their product selection, we do additional research with our distributors to get them the best prices. Q: Are you (the person providing the estimate) going to be the person performing the installation? A: Yes, typically the person providing the free estimate will be the installer. For larger jobs there may be additional installers, but your main contact will still be there. Q: How long will the installation take? A: The installation time frame will always depend on the job being performed. Once we have a clear understanding of the entire project, we can provide you with a better idea of how long it will take to complete the project.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. RJA Floors is one-of-a-kind company offering assistance every step of the way. We pay close attention to detail and offer services that many others do not. Some of these services include helping with removal of furniture to clear a room, finding ways to help you save if budget is of great concern, call local distributors for you to ensure you get the best prices, as well as pick up your flooring for you from your local distributor. Customer service is our #1 priority and our goal is to make the new renovation as quick and easy for the customer.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Growing up, I have always had a passion for drawing and constructing everyday items. I enjoy working with my hands and tools to build something of use or to look at. With installation of flooring or bathroom remodeling, I can use my creative side in designing, as well as constructing a room or floor that someone will be able to see on a daily basis and enjoy.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. To be the best at what you do, it’s key to stay abreast of new products, installation methods, materials and techniques. We work closely with our distributors, so they continuously update us and teach us on these various categories.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. One of our most recent projects included repair, creativity and budget control. We often meet customers that have floors they love, but unfortunately over time a tile or two has cracked. Unfortunately, that tile is no longer in stock for replacement, so we go a step further and evaluate the various options to have the floor looking refreshed. We recently had a customer with cracks in the flooring tile that ran the length of the room. Since the tiles were outdated, finding a replacement was near impossible. We designed a unique mosaic pattern by cutting and removing and replacing half of the 12”x12” cracked tile with new 5/8” x 5/8” mosaic marble tile. The customer was thrilled with the outcome that they requested we do the other side of the kitchen with the same pattern. The project took one day and the customer got a brand new looking kitchen! Pricing will vary based on the size of the repair and space, as well as the type of tile the customer selects.
