Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. My clients come to me wanting a variety of end results.
Some want to change career paths late in life. Others are seeking life fulfillment in their empty nest years. Some are confused about which career path to take at an early age. Other people may be in the midst of "having it all," but they are not happy and cannot find out why. Some business clients have achieved great financial success, but feel their life is lacking in other areas, or they want to re-invent their business and rekindle their passion for it. Others may be in a transition stage of life, without their partner, divorced, trying to rebuild a life. I have the resources to assist these clients in creating a life that is fulfilling and that gives them greater joy day to day.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. First, make sure you are ready to do the work required. A life coach makes you accountable for your goals and the steps it takes to reach them. Secondly, there must be an understanding and comfort level between the coach and client. This is established in the first session. If you are connecting with the life coach and he or she is a good listener, then you have the foundation for a relationship of trust and openess that will benefit you with the greatest results. Remember that depending on your goals, life coaching may take 3 months to achieve the small goals, but will likely take 6 or more to reach lofty ones. Be realistic in your expectations and know that the money and time you invest in life coaching is a valuable investment in yourself!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. First, it seems that I have always had a gift for listening to others and for providing valuable advice. Even as a young person, people would seek me out for guidance on life issues. As I studied and progressed professionally, I realized that others listened to my guidance and when they followed the ideas we co-created, they wound up getting the results they wanted. It was very gratifying for me. I encourage a client to explore all areas of their life to create more balance, hence the phrase "holistic life coach." You cannot ignore the body, mind and soul aspects of a person's life if you seek to guide them to more balance and happiness in life. The assessments and questions I use provide this guidance for my clients.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get the greatest joy from seeing others set goals for themselves and achieve their goals. It always leaves me smiling when I see someone who isn't sure what they really want in life, become crystal clear about who they are and what they want to create. At that point, the magic happens, things come their way, they attract the right people, places and moments that speed them along to their desired results. When people become truly self-aware of their talents, values and desires, then they empower themselves to do most anything.
