FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I browse the pet stores to see new tools like leashes, collars, harnesses, etc. I watch current dog training videos about many different issues to include basic obedience to severe aggressive actions from dogs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved animals. Dogs are definitely my favorite. I have been able to train dogs at a very young age. Growing up, I always knew I would work with dogs. I trained our dogs and friends' dogs. I was great at it. Then the GI Bill finally accepted Animal Behavior College. I went there and became a certified dog trainer. Now I know a vast amount about dogs overall. I also enjoy teaching the family about their dog.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Service dogs, therapy dogs, and pet dogs. Obedience is always first but if a safety issue a rises I focus on that first. That would include dog fights, dog bolting out the door and possibly into the street, dogs stealing food from kids and babies, or even aggression towards any family member or friends.
