Your help was greatly appreciated in the redecorating of Mom's house. We appreciate all the money you saved us with your "reuse" ideas. Noone would ever believe that the old things in the basement could be used and made so beautiful. Your ideas were very creative and stylish. We barely recognized the house after you were finished. Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Most of my jobs have been for people who did not think they could afford an Interior Decorator. Budgets were tight and they wanted someone to help them with a Do it yourself type situation and a lending of a decorative eye. That is me! Other clients are full on decorating needs but 8 out of 10 need someone to help them along with their ideas in helping with color choices, furniture purchase and placement. Decorative accessory purchase is also difficult for couples and I can play mediator in helping both their needs and styles come together in one cohesive interior or exterior. Each client can receive just what they need by using U & I Home Decorating and Staging. I am confident that we have a package that can work for all.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My clients love what I do for them...I save them money every way I possibly can. The first thing I do is shop in their home and find things to use in a new decorative way. I do my very best to take what the client has and recreate a different room or home. By redesigning their objects and using them in a different way they save money. Leaving just a few purchased items to bring things up to trend and give it a modern today feel. Each client has told me how much they appreciate that about me. One thing is for sure I am confident that I can make their items seem new, even if it is just a new arrangement.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I am constantly taking webinars and attending workshops and seminars to get the latest and greatest in Interior and Exterior Designs. Researching on line with all types of vendors in Decorative items keeping with pricing and bargains to be had for my clients. I also pass on my discounts and finds to my clients instead of marking up my prices. I believe that a client appreciates you working hard at saving them money. A happy client is a returning client and a referring client. Shopping and researching in the retail stores and with up to trend catalogs and magazines of the latest fashion in fabrics and furniture are also a daily regimen.
