I got introduced to McRae through my doula to help me during the immediate postpartum period. She helped us get settled in the house and routine when I came back from the hospital. She took special care of my first child during this transition and made sure that our house was very clean and organized. She was very fast and productive and constantly worked on keeping me and the newborn very comfortable. She shared a wealth of information concerning breastfeeding, postpartum diet and pumping methods. We enjoyed working with her and were very pleased with her efficiency and work ethics. We will definitely recommend her if you are looking for a postpartum service.

Our family has had the great fortune to have McRae work for us part-time as a post-partum doula for more than 3 months. As a new mom to twins McRae has been invaluable in assisting me with the babies and household chores. McRae brings a lot of experience, knowledge and expertise in taking care of multiples. Moreover, McRae has the unique ability to lighten up our day with her laughter, care and love. Further, McRae is highly reliable and professional – she has never missed a shift and she tries her hardest to accommodate me whenever I need her. I highly recommend McRae and will happily serve as her reference.

Wow!!! Mcrae was wonderful! I have been so pleased with the work, coordination, planning, and communication that I have had with Mcrae. She has been so thoughtful and very communicative. Even though she was our doula for baby number three, I learned so much from her. She is so informed on current baby trends, and any question I had that she didn't know she found out within 24 hours, and e-mailed me before she came back the next day. She did overnights for our family, and I was very comfortable with her in our home. She always kept our baby calm, in clean clothes, and she can swaddle like nobody's business! If you are looking for someone to care for and love your baby like you would, then you should choose Mcrae.

Question and answer
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I wish I had known that postpartum doulas existed when i had my son in 2009. It certainly would have made the transition to motherhood a little easier to have had a professional available to help out. Whether this is your first or your third baby, a little help with all things postpartum is never a bad idea!
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Not only do I have a son of my own but childcare has been my career for over 10 years now. I was a nanny through college and after, worked in 2 daycares and have had my own successful home daycare since 2005. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with the older siblings and include them in tasks i am working on or include them in caring for the mom and/or the baby when possible.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love seeing that sigh of relief on the parents' face when I've finished cleaning up or we've talked about some of their concerns or I've helped them to accomplish something.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. After the birth of my son in 2009, I wanted to get involved in the birth community to help women, babies, and families have the best start possible.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes, I completed acupressure and lactation continuing education on February 11, 2012. I plan to attend at least 2 more continuing education classes this year.
