Seriously Sexy Boudoir Photography

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Be sure to get to know them a bit before your session! There's a lot of trust that goes into allowing someone to take these intimate pictures of yourself. You want to be sure that you're totally comfortable with your photographer BEFORE your session! Based on clients who've come to me after disappointing sessions with other photographers, there's nothing worse than baring so much for someone who's not totally there or isn't as interested in you as they are about their images.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. It all boils down to this: are you ready to step out of your box to have an amazing experience? Having a boudoir session requires a bit of a leap of faith. I mean you're going to have your pictures taken in articles of clothing that probably only your significant other has seen! No pressure, right? =)

In order to make it as easy as possible, I encourage you to come have an in-person consultation at the studio so that you can see the studio and we can get to know each other. You can see that the studio is purposefully small so that you're not getting naked in a huge warehouse! It's just a cozy room with a friend (me!) and some fun music. It's honestly more like hanging out than a high stress photo-session. =)

Also, think about how often you're probably going to have boudoir sessions. Is this going to be the only one you plan to have in the next five years? Or even ever? If so, isn't it worth investing in the final product and the experience by getting your hair and makeup professionally done? Trust me, hair and makeup are the two single biggest things you can to help guarantee that you love your final images. They really do make that much of a difference. I've NEVER had a client say that they wish they hadn't gotten them done or think that they didn't make that much of a difference. I HAVE, however, had many clients who wished later that they had opted for them. In addition to bumping up the level of the final images, you'll just have FUN being pampered and made shockingly gorgeous!

Don't you deserve the whole experience and not just the final images?!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I think I come at boudoir photography a little different than most boudoir photographers. While all of my clients really are beautiful all on their own, I'm not trying to sell "beauty", I help you find your "sexy". The Seriously Sexy Boudoir experience is all about getting glammed up and having fun and laughing and dancing in your lingerie and, yes, a little bit of fantasy!

While I offer three levels of retouching, 100% of my clients go for my level two, which I laughingly refer to as "smooth and perfect"! As my preferred makeup artist says, "It's you, but better." =) Your skin will be beautifully smoothed, the shadows will highlight your best features and will camouflage the things that aren't your favorite, that little bit of extra arm flab that you hate will be tucked in just enough, that tattoo that you haven't gotten around to getting removed will be history! My goal is for you to look at the final image and not know exactly what I did, but know that you ADORE the end result. =)

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love watching my ladies go from crazy nervous to laughing and having a great time during their shoot. If I had a dollar for every time someone said after their shoot, "that was so much fun!" =)

It's pretty much the same during the Studio Unveiling, when they see their images for the first time. They go from really nervous about what they're going to look like to being so excited and happy with the (almost) final product (as they're seeing proofs, not finished images). Then when they see the fully retouched images, they're over the moon!

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. I love my Studio Unveilings with clients because this is the first time they really get to see how sexy and beautiful they really are.

One Unveiling in particular always sticks out to me. This client is crazy gorgeous, highly accomplish in her high stress and fast paced career, has beautiful children, has an amazing husband and works really hard to take care of herself, her family and her work. She's someone you would look at and feel that she really has it all! While looking at her pictures, she became quiet suddenly and I realized it was because she had gotten a little teary-eyed. She said that these pictures were how she sometimes wanted to see herself, all glammed up and sexy. These images were proof that she really IS how she wished she was. That was priceless to me.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I myself had a boudoir/pin-up session when my daughter was still really little. I hadn't gotten my pre-baby body back, even after 3 years, so I wasn't sure if I was ready to bare any skin!

Even though I wasn't initially totally comfortable, my photographer made me feel like such a rock star during the shoot. These images are some that I treasure the most, even though I THOUGHT that I wasn't very happy with my body! Now I look back and am SO GLAD that I stepped out of my "mommy box" and did the shoot. I'll always have these images to remind me of what 27 looked like for me. =)
