FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As a personal chef, the service is priced depending on how many people I'm cooking for and how many days' worth of meals they want. For 5 days worth of meals for 1-3 people I charge $225 and for 4-6 people it is $250; for 4 days worth of meals for 1-3 people it is $200, and for 4-6 people it is $225; for 3 days worth of meals for 1-3 people it is $175, and for 4-6 people it is $200. These prices do not include the groceries which are a separate charge. Delivery is included.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read tons of online food blogs, as well as cooking magazines and cookbooks. I watch quite a few cooking shows as well and when the opportunity presents itself, I eat in top restaurants in different areas I am traveling in. I'm interested in food trends, but I mainly stick with food people actually want to eat.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always loved to cook and bake, starting when I was a kid with my easy bake oven, baking cakes by the heat of a lightbulb. I ended a career as a legal secretary to attend the Culinary Institute of America, which was such an incredible experience. We had top flight chef instructors from all around the world teaching us how to do absolutely everything you need to know in the professional kitchen. It really is so obvious when you work with someone who had not had this training. There are so many gaps in their knowledge, and they don't even know it.
