Hello, my name is Melinda. I love animals, they are my passion. I have been a pet sitter for over 12 years, providing care for 4 legged children in Richmond, Mechanicsville, Ashland and some parts of the southside area.

I water plants, bring in mail, and I like to rotate the lights so it looks like someone is home, unless clients have timers for their lights. I walk the dogs, play with the cats, clean litter boxes, and medicate them if needed. Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If I were looking for a petsitter I would want to know how long they have been doing this type of work and what profession they are in. I would also like to see references from other clients. I would also like to meet them first and see what type of reaction my pet has towards them and vise versa. If my pet is comfortable then i'm comfortable.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Customer service is the key to happy clients and a loving attitude is the key to happy pets. Clients want to feel welcomed and their pets want to feel loved and the more loved they feel the more comfortable they are going to the Dr. Even the scardest animals can feel warm and fuzzy just by your reactions to them.

A. I go above and beyond what my clients ask of me.

A. I love my job as a veterinary receptionist and a pet-sitter because I love animals, they are my passion.
