SIT, Richmond is a non-veterinary, full-service, animal care and transport business. While our primary concentration is in-home pet sitting for companion animals, we also provide related services such as pet “taxi”, canine basic training, yard waste removal and house sitting. We also offer contract, referred or other pet-related services to metro Richmond retirement communities, pet-friendly hotels, and similar facilities.

SIT, Richmond’s goal is to be more than just “pet sitters”. We strive to be your family's extended member, someone you know to be reliable, trustworthy, and extremely knowledgeable about companion animals or family pets.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. You are trusting your pet and your house to someone. Trust your instincts! Watch how your potential sitter/ trainer interactes not only with you but with your pet.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There are very few "secrets." Never feel bad for having to build trust over time before you can give a sitter permission for and outing or a house key!!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Experience, experience, experience. If you can have a half hour meeting and they never mention their own pets something may be off.
