We specialize in sod installations with the most competitive price in the area, at $0.50 per sq. ft., delivered and installed. This is top quality, two-year-old tall fescue. Kentucky bluegrass is also available.

Our mulch prices are equally competitive. Hardwood mulch is delivered and installed for just $65 per cubic yard. This includes flat spade edging over all gardens and trees.

Scott's Grass Guys also, of course, has a fine lawn service. We offer top-notch equipment, coupled with conscientious and friendly crews. We are dependable, timely and economical. Most residential yards are between $25 and $50 for weekly or biweekly services. Our lawn care includes edging of driveways, walkways, and trees.

Stone work, patios, walkways, stone walls, and ponds and waterfalls are also available. Scott honed his wall-building style back in the 1990s and now builds walls that look like they've been around since the 1800s. Natural beauty is built into your existing landscape.

Classic American Ponds is a division of Scott's Grass Guys. We design, create, and maintain koi ponds, garden ponds and waterfalls, backyard ponds, babbling brooks, and virtually anything our customers can imagine. On-site estimates are generally free and only given by Scott himself.

Scott's Grass Guys did a great job on the lawn aeration. The owner also called me later that evening to see if I was happy with the job, and I was. He also gave me a wealth of tips and information on improving my lawn and what to put on it, as well as some great Koi pond information to help with my pond. Great Job.

We needed new sod for our front yard, approx. 1800 sq ft and saw Scott's Grass Guys ad for Sod Installation $.50 sq ft, delivered and installed on the internet. It was the best price we had found in our search.

We contacted Scott and he came out, measured the area to be sodded, gave a very reasonable offer and we hired them to come out within 10 days.

Scott showed up with his crew at the time scheduled, prepped and graded the area, installed the new sod, and provided the first watering. He also gave me instructions on taking care of my beautiful new lawn.

I've waited this long to commend him officially for his work because I wanted to see how the lawn would look after being established. It looks great! I highly recommend Scott's Grass Guys for the quality of their work and their great prices!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Find out the length of time the company has been operating in the area. This will help the consumer to realize the dependability of the provider. It will also allow the consumer to get reliable references and gauge the amount of experience the provider has. Ask the provider if this is a full time occupation or a part time business. Many small landscape companies are weekend outfits.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Sod is a specialty of Scott's Grass Guys. We install it the day it is cut from the sod fields of Virginia. Many home owners think that sod installation is a difficult procedure. But what it really is, is hard work. Scalping of the existing lawn and weeds is imperative before installation of the new Sod. And sod can grow on a side walk if it is watered well every day. It is essentially a outside house plant with all the nutrients and soil needed to grow.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What type of sod do you offer? How old is the sod you will be installing in my yard? How much do you charge per square foot? What if any are the delivery costs? How many square feet do I have to be sodded?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. The costs associated with their particular project. Do a little research and determine what the average costs are for doing the work and then select a company with experience, that falls within the pricing range you desire.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We first are able to price our projects below the competition after finding the best quality sod for the lowest price available. We work in bulk so the sod farms sell their product to us at a fraction of the cost offered to end consumers. Second, the sod we install is cut from the local fields the day we install it at your home. Finally, we give you complete instructions on the care of your new lawn. We tell you all the do's and don'ts of taking care of new sodded yards. We want and live for your referrals. There is no better advertising than word of mouth.
