FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been drawing and arranging spaces since I was about 5 years old. My cousin and I used to make pretend businesses in our Grandma's living room for fun in the summer, including pretend customers and documents, everything! Then, my family bought a house in the country with a horrible orange carpet in the very dark kitchen. I resolved at twelve that it had to go --- took me many years and an Interior Design BFA degree but my father finally remodeled that kitchen and the carpet is history! The new kitchen is a happy, sunlit, awesome space for the whole family. I want to provide this to anyone who needs to make their space more their own. Everyone should be excited and happy to be home!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Lighting design for remodel, new construction and custom installations in residential and small business settings is the most common service I provide. Color and material selection for interior and exterior paint, cabinets, counter tops, flooring a is the next most common service Phirebrand Art & Design can provide!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
After over 15 years of persuation, ideas and conversation, I recently convinced my father to remodel his kitchen - it's awful orange cabinets, cramped space and orange 70's carpet was one HUGE reason I got into the field of design to begin with! The small kitchen is now open and more airy with updated appliances, cabinets, flooring, lighting and countertops. It is also much more user-friendly and my father is highly pleased! I am so happy to be able to show his kitchen as part of my design work - please view the small kitchen remodel design drawings in my portfolio for an idea of the new kitchen!
