Brent is a great teacher and a great mentor. He runs a great dojo for adults and kids.

He's a great martial arts instructor! He's knowledgable in karate, aikido, and jujutsu, but more importantly--he can teach what he knows. Whether you're a beginner or a black belt, working with Yamamoto-Sensei will help you improve.

Brent is excellent. The depth of his knowledge of martial arts is incredible and he's got a superb ability to tailor training to the level of the individual, from rank beginner to expert. Even in a mixed class with drastic differences in skills and physical capacity, Brent and the other senseis at NWMA make sure everyone makes progress and learns.
Finally, the style of the dojo is very informal and practical. Especially for newer students, there's an emphasis on immediate applications for your own defense over drill training that will pay off over a much longer period.
