Introduction: Now is a good time to start! Too often, there have been only two approaches to learning to play the piano. Many learn to play by ear; often, they are self-taught. They seem to be free to play anything, adding and changing to meet the situation. In reality, however, they are limited to playing only what they already know. Others learn to play by reading written music. This has primarily been the focus of most music instruction. These individuals seem to be able to play anything you can put in front of them, but actually, they are limited to reproducing the music of others. Don't ask them to play "Happy Birthday" at a party unless you provide the written music. There must be a better way, a third way. There must be a way to learn the piano without limitation, combining the joy of playing by ear with the strengths playing by written music. The goal of my musical instruction is exactly this: that you will be able to play without limitations. 5 keys to musical freedom: - Musical understanding (reading music, common patterns and musical styles) - Confident rhythm - Discerning ear - Creative expression (improvisation and composition) - Trained technique I have a Master of Music degree. Rates: * 40-minute lesson: $42 * 60-minute lesson: $63
I enjoy watching my students discover the fun of a job well done.
