Edge Tech Repair is a family business that started by repairing broken PS3's. Our success in repairing the PS3 led us to find a way to help others recover their broken gaming consoles. This soon developed into a curiousity of fixing Xbox 360's as well. We added these successes to our long-time experience in computer repair.

We also offer custom web design, which we have been building upon for the past several years, ranging from simple HTML to Flash integration.

Our mission is to provide excellent customer service at an affordable price, while continuing to research better ways to keep gaming systems working properly. We do the following: computer repair, laptop repair, PS3 repair, Xbox 360 repair, and Nintendo Wii Repair.

All of our reflow repairs are done using an official reflow station (Bird 5000 Dark Infrared system) in order to control the amount, temperature, direction, and area of the heat flow to the motherboard of your gaming system.

Super friendly and honest! They located the problem with my ps3 not reading disc's and fixed it within the hour. Absolutely recommend them to gamers :)

The team at Edge Tech Repair is top notch!! I had the YLOD on my PS3 and after scheduling with them over the phone, I dropped off my PS3. Even though they where very professional in the approach, it felt like I was dropping off a kid to a really good friend. My PS3 was done and they even made recommendations about easy ways to upgrade my system. I came home and found other projects that they could assist me with.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Our most common types of jobs are either the PlayStation3 or Xbox 360 overheating. We also get a lot of PS3 blu-ray lasers going out, as well computers taken over by viruses.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. If you're looking for an affordable, honest repair company for your gaming system or computer, you have come to the right place.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. There is a distinct method of repairing gaming systems, in order for it to work. After several trial and error techniques, we finally found the way of repairing each error, and which ones are unfortunately not repairable. So if I were a customer, I would be weary of who I brought my system to, and make sure they knew what they were doing, so as not to hurt my system even more.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. All we ask of you is that you relay what your problem is, explain anything that has happened to your system, or anyone else who has tried to repair it, and we will do our best to help you out.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Our work stands out because we use high quality parts, methods, and we have a high quality of customer service. Our prices are very competitive and we have a policy of not charging if the problem is not fixed. We also have a waiting room for our customers, complete with a computer that they can use to search the web, an Xbox 360 set up to play, as well as gaming magazines to read. Unlike our competitors, who don't always offer same-day service, in most all cases we are able to fix your system in an hour. Aside from our exceptional customer service, we take care of your system as if it was our own, and not only finish the work we discuss, but also take the time to clean off any excess dust from within your system, to ensure proper functioning in the future. We also are sure to test the system upon completion with the customer present. We have no hidden fees and no diagnostic fees.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Here at Edge Tech, we enjoy customers, and being able to solve their problems. We host gaming tournaments at our shop periodically also. Another thing we like is being able to complete our repairs in a timely fashion and seeing the surprise on our customers' faces when we have it completed within an hour.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How long does the process takes...it takes between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the problem.
Will the same problem occur after you repair it...the problem should not occur again, as we do everything possible to fully repair the problem and the cause of it.
Do you offer a warranty...We offer a 60 day warranty on our service. If the same problem should occur within that time, bring it back in, and we will repair it free of charge.
Do you offer a discount for multiple systems at a time...We do offer a discounts through some social networking sites, as well as Yelp.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. My favorite story from work is one of our tournament nights. We had an 8 year old kid come with his cousin and they ended up winning the tournament (with the help of screen looking, which since then we have cured). But it was fun none the less and they were both happy that they won.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We operate as a true business, and are not a shady fly-by-night operation. We take pride in our work and know that it's not for everyone. And we are here to help those who reach out to us, as gaming system repair, as well as computer repair, does not come easy. Much time and effort goes into each system, to ensure it is properly repaired.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. We started repairing computers when we were kids, and continued that through our adult years. We started repairing gaming consoles when our PS3 broke on us. It got the 'yellow light of death', which is a common overheating problem that occurs quite often when the system is pushed to its limit. We did hours of research on this problem and, since the system was not under warranty, we decided to fix it ourselves. After a successful repair, we continued to research other common problems, and soon started repairing Xbox 360's as well.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. A job that we are particularly proud of demonstrates our turn around time. We were contacted by the customer and we were able to squeeze them in if they made it to our shop within 15 minutes. They made it and we had them out the door with their repaired Xbox 360 within an hour. We are proud to be able to provide a fast and affordable service to our customers.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. We continue with our research on a daily basis, and are up to date on the latest news in the computer / gaming industry.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Sony and Microsoft continue to come out with new products, which will change the problems that will occur and the methods in which we repair them.

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. Our most recent project was a PS3 that had been broken for a couple of months. The customer was looking through craigslist and happened to see our ad. She brought the PS3 in and we repaired it and had it back out the door fully functioning within an hour and fifteen minutes. There were no other problems so it was just the flat $40 that was quoted.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Our greatest strength is that we will not charge you unless we are able to repair your system. This is to make you the customer know that we try our hardest to repair your system because if it isn't repaired you do pay!

Q. Write your own question and answer it.

A. What are you doing in the future with Edge Tech Repair?
