Ripley, who's photo is the profile picture right now is getting a new roommate soon. A brindle puppy Basingi names Queso. I should have pictures of him to share by April. What fun helping to raise cuddly, loving puppies is one of the best parts of being Aunt Kate. – Mar 10, 2011 at 2:48 pm
I just entered lot of new cute doggie photos.

We are dog sitters who take small dogs into our home while you are away from home, whether that's for work or vacation.
(To see our website or Dogs at Play videos of doggies having fun at Aunt Kate's click on the address at the right.)
We offer daycare for people who go to work and overnight care for people who will be away from home for more than one day.
We have a section of our home, which is solely for the dogs, we have a fully fenced, secure and private back yard, and, more often than not, overnight dogs sleep with whichever one of us that the dog prefers.
We only take good dogs, which means that there is no trouble with everyone getting along, from puppies to the elderly.
Playtime is supervised, as is naptime. All dogs are given their own food and whatever treats they are allowed.
Any medicine or special needs are provided as instructed.
Hours listed are for daycare. Rates are charged by the day.
We do not provide grooming and we are not dog walkers.

I've been using Aunt Kate's for almost 2 years for doogy daycare & I can't imagine life without her. My little Roxy (2 year old Boston Terrier) enjoys her time at Aunt Kate's and comes home exhausted which is great for my busy schedule. I use Aunt Kate's for our vacations, once a year we go for 2 weeks and leave Roxy with Kate and I know she is in good hands. Kate is loving, caring & passionate about the dogs as if they were her own. I appreciate Kate and all she does for Roxy!!!!

Kate once told my mom that a "smart dog" is a dog who has two families...I am very lucky to call Kate and Peter my second family. I have been with them for both day care and many vacations. I often hate to go home after staying with Kate but she always tells me that the door is always open so not too worry ... I love both my families but Kate and Peter have a special spot in my doggie heart!

Well, what can I say. After finding 'Kate', of Kate's Pampered Pooches, I can leave town and not worry about my two, wonderful dogs. I don't call anymore to see how my dogs are doing. I don't worry anymore. I am just so happy I found Kate, and hope if you read my review and are looking for caring, dog people, please give Kate a call. For me, the best part for Murray and Chico is they stay in her home and it feels like home. Sometimes I wonder whether they want to come home. Pamela

I have been using Aunt Kate's for years for my two pugs; and I have always been pleased with the care they receive. My dogs are happy to go to Kate's in the morning and come home happy and tired (so I can rest). I really can't imagine taking my dogs anywhere else.

Aunt Kate is the best. I never worry about my pet. Her home is warm and caring. I discovered "Kate's Pampered Pooches" several years ago. At that time she cared for my two senior dog's with medical issues of diabetes and blindness. She cared for them in her day care and for extended periods of time.
Now a new chapter has begun, she is now caring for Leroy a 14 wk mini schnauzer. It is wonderful to know he is being well cared for in a safe place. He loves playing with the other dogs and thinks he is at doggie vacation camp. Juanita

A. How long have they been in business.
Are they licensed.
Are the home and the people clean.
Are the dogs already there happy and clean.
How is the business organized.
How do the people act toward visiting dogs/pets.
Do the people running the business have dogs/pets of their own.
Are the business-owners own dogs/pets clean and happy.
A. Clients should know what we are not. We are not a kennel.
What we are is a loving home for doggies who's owners don't want to leave them alone while they work long hours or put them in a kennel while they go on vacation.
We have a safely fenced back yard that is totally private and secure. It would be very difficult to see over our fence into the yard and the 6 ft. wood fence is doubly secured by having a plastic mesh fence covering the inside of it and laying along the ground for about 12 inches preventing doggies from being able to dig under.
A. Other Dog and Pet Sitters go to their customers homes and care for the pets there.
Aunt Kate's Pampered Pooches cares for small dogs in our own home. Also, unlike some others, Aunt Kate's does not offer dog-walking services.
For a dog, having their people leave them can be stressful, so Aunt Kate's provides a home-like atmosphere in order to reduce stress; we have a home where our dog guests are always attended, given lots of companionship and the opportunity to play with other dogs which is an important part of a dogs socialization.
A. Watching the doggies play with each other and learn from each other. They throw balls for each other and play tag and Tug of War. It's great fun to watch.
The love each of them shows not only to me but to their doggie friends here is amazing. I really love watching them go to a doggies side that is upset and comfort them. The love they show to me for me is so fulfilling. Kate
A. The most asked question at a first interview is "how do you keep their food separate?" We laugh, partly because it isn't as hard as it might seem. Many dogs watch us put the food dishes down and understand immediately that there is one for each of them and they eat only their own food. If someone is greedy and tries to take another dogs food we just move that dog and his food dish into a kennel or outside until they are finished eating. We have two kennels in the house that have doggie beds in them so there is a place for a dog to den if they want to. Usually the doors hang open but if we need to separate a dog for dinner time that's one of the ways we do it. Sometimes we bring a dog that is shy about eating into the kitchen with us as we cook dinner and let them have the security of being right under our feet while they are eating.
A. I had been a real estate agent and broker for almost 35 years and wanted to retire. I was already taking care of many of my friends dogs when their owners traveled and it was just natural to continue taking care of the doggies as I retired from the real estate business. I have always loved dogs and horses and have owned and trained both in my life. For many years I raised Great Danes. Now I would rather associate with the smaller doggies that can snuggle with me while I read a good book. Kate
