Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. It is not how clean their truck is that makes the difference
It how much the person knows that sits there!

Check with past customers.
Check if their lic. & bond are current.
Ask as may questions as you like.
Make sure the answers sound right.
If it smells fishy, it probably is!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Being a good General contractor is not easy. It takes skill and know how to bring every subcontractor in at the right time so their are no delays.
It take good communication skills to bring what a owner wants to reality.
Many owners ask if they can work as the general to save money. One can try. Like every other thing in life,
you become good at it by doing it over and over again.
PRB has been a General Contractor for 30 years.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. The bench mark to be a General Contractor is very low in Wash. St. To be a Gen. cont. you can give the state $6000 for a bond or you own your own home!
You do not need to know anything about building. No test, no work experiance.

PRB has a construction management degree, worked as a carpenter, estimater, forman, project manager and has run PRB Const. for the last 30 years.

Ask a lot of questions before making your choice.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. You can call PRB for all types of const.
If we can not help you we will try to give you a name of someone that can.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. PRB has been in business for 30 year in Seattle area.
We take the project long before a architect is required and often can save a owner thousands of dollars in the process. We only use lic. & bonded subcontractor on our job sites.
Examples of our jobs: room additions, second story additions, raise houses and add new rooms under existing, new homes by request only, plus kitchens, baths, new decks and windows.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Remodeling is a art form. One takes what is there and make it into something else.

PRB enjoys working with home owners. Doing one job at a time and taking our time to do it right.

We meet a lot of nice people in our work and enjoy seeing how they like their new homes when we have completed our work.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. May of our customers are first time home owners or first time they remodel their home. We respect every ones
ideas and budget.
1. do we give free estimates? Yes, up to $150,000. then
we charge a small fee. that would deducted if we do
your project.
2. How does the payment schedule work?
depending on the size of you job.
Example: $40,000 job payment schedule
1.day work begins $15000
2.after rough elect. & plumb. inspections $10000
3.drywall is ready for painting $10000
4. balance on completion $ 5000
3. can you show us were we can save?
You do should not cut cost on labor. It will show up
later! But we can show you how to save on products,
cabinets, plumbing, heating
4. can you give us ideas what to do in our space?
PRB can give you may ideas. We say it is all right if you do not like all of our ideas. By putting out different ideas you will come up with your own good design.

Note: A remodel does not have to be a nightmare.
It sould be fun with the right Contractor.
Make sure they are Lic. in WA. State & their bond is current. Their insurance company will give you a copy if you ask for it.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. We just finished a project that the owner paid $13000. for a set of plans from a so called architect. He was a designer/ not lic. PRB saw in less that 1/2hour that the plans were not able to be used. We worked with the owner and redesigned the plan. PRB took time to hear what the owner wanted and that is exactly what we gave them. One more happy customer!
