Look for someone that has genuine interest in the customers needs, not in making a sale. If the event is important enough, as a Bride's makeup, always schedule a consultation. Bring images for looks you like, be open to feedback. Everyone has different facial features, skin types and needs. A good artist will be able to show you and teach you your own customization.
