I am originally from San Diego but love the NW! I received my Landscape Architecture degree at UW, in which I realized my passion for creating beautiful and functional landscapes. I've been dedicated to bring ideas to life for my clients.

About Whitby Landcare & Design

hired 4 times on Thumbtack

We specialize in landscape design to full landscape construction, which includes garden renovations, patio and path installs, retaining walls, and water features.

Each garden is unique, and we customize each to the client's style, use, and budget. I and my crew take a very hands-on approach to the entire process, from design to placing the last plant, to make sure you are happy with the finished product.

No job is too small; we do it all!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We most commonly install patios and pathways, retaining walls, and renovation of the planter areas. Drainage problems and pour soils are also common issues, especially with newer constructed landscapes. Privacy is also high on the list of client concerns.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Think about how you want to use your outdoor areas, the level of maintenance, your landscape style, and your budget. Ask the person/company you are talking with is going to be involved with your entire project, are they there everyday or just sending a crew? I look at each project as a collaboration between you the client, me and my experienced crew. I stay very involved with each project to make sure that the final result is what you expect for a functional and beautiful garden.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Understanding the landscape design to build process. A good landscape designer/contractor should be able to smooth this process and work with existing conditions.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. When can you start/finish?
What is the price range for what I want done?
What are the unforeseen problems that could occur?
Can you creatively resolve existing landscape issues, such as drainage problems?
