We met Scott at the 2010 Tacoma Home show. We had him come over and give us a bid, one for just replacing the deck as is and one for adding 900 sq feet more. As it turned out adding the 900 more feet was the best deal for us. Scott and his crew were very professional and kept our yard very clean of debris which was very important to us as we had a dog and grandchildren in the yard. We love our new deck!

Scott Dennis and his team at Waterproof Decks did an AMAZING job. We are so pleased. They replaced our 25 year-old waterproof decking with new product and installed a glass deck rail. It looks gorgeous.

We met Scott at the Seattle Home Show in 1999. We made an appointment for a bid, a small deck off the master bedroom which was showing signs of rotting. His bid was good, the job done well, and there were no surprises. It was so good that we had him come back and redo the main deck, expanding it and making it the centerpiece of our summer living experiences. Great workmanship and excellent product

This company was wonderful to deal with. After being stood up several times for an onsite quote by a company in Lacey I contacted Scott Dennis and am very glad I did. They were prompt, professional, fairly priced, and the job they did was superb. It's been over two years now since the deck was done and it still looks great and we have no leaks!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Check the background of the company. Make sure the crew is well trained in the application of the product being used. Request current referrals and older ones to make sure the work is consistent. Check to see if products being used are equal in value and performance to other bids. Make certain the contractor can provide a minimum warranty of ten years for product performance. Hire contractors with A ratings from reputable sources.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I have replaced many failed deck projects due to poor design or installation. It is important to know that the lowest priced bid is not going to protect you in the long run.
Waterproofing failures start with contractor error but can also be a result of inferior products. A customer should learn the performance difference between competing products. Long term performance and a successful project requires three key components. 1. Product quality, 2. Project Design, 3. Quality Installation. Each component is as important as the next. If a customer does not research all three of these factors they can run the risk of unsatisfactory results that even the best of warranties will not protect them.

A. Quality workmanship and professional looking projects. We have a small yet highly skilled work force who will treat your project with care and respect.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Customer satisfaction is our primary goal and greatest reward. When a customer refers our service to friends and neighbors, we know we have achieved our goal.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Customers ask how long our waterproof deck system will last. The Duradek Ultra 60 system will typically last over 30 years when maintained correctly.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. Duradek offers factory training and certificates for installers who successfully pass the exam. A consumer should request documentation showing that the manufacturer has certified that the individual responsible for installing the product is properly trained. Check references of past customers as well as manufacturers and local distributors. A quality installation will perform 15 to 30 years. Select a contractor who has the history and experience that exceeds the manufacturers warranty.
