Question and answer

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Plumbing is the basic law of gravity applied to mechanical design to provide water to a structure and the means by which the waste can then be disposed and transported away.

What appears to be a simple task or fix can quickly turn into a disaster for the DIY because of the pressure within the plumbing system.

Plumbing knowledge can be taught, but experience can't. Experience in selecting the proper part and knowing how to fit the parts is what saves the professional from wasting time on multiple trips back and forth to the hardware store for the right part---that and having a truck already fully stocked with a wide selection of parts, tools, and specialty equipment.

Last, but not least, there is the liability for a botched job. Your homeowner's insurance may not cover damage that you caused by yourself. Before you let anyone touch your plumbing, ask 2 questions: is the plumber licensed? what is the amount of the plumber's liability insurance coverage limit? Have the plumber show you a copy of their insurance coverage.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We are same day emergency plumbing and heating service and during normal weather conditions we can typically be at the customer's doorstep within an hour or two. We have licensed residential and commercial plumbers that get the job done correctly and efficiently.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. We take great satisfaction in solving an emergency and putting our customers fears and concerns to rest quickly and professionally.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Customers wonder about the pros and cons of flat rate pricing compared to time and materials/hourly rates. Over time our experience is that not all technicians are created equal: some technicians are faster than others in completing their tasks. For example, it might take a highly efficient technician a little over an hour to install a water heater while someone not as fast might take 2-3 hours. By fixed rate pricing, we assume all of the risk for the time it takes to get the job done correctly. The consumer doesn't have to watch the clock to monitor the technician to keep the technician from "milking the clock". Fixed rate pricing also gives the customer the certainty of knowing that their given problem will be repaired for a specified price and not be given a "surprise" when the work is finished.
