It is my goal that your child has a very positive experience learning not only to play an instrument, but learning to love music in general. I have high standards for my students, however I completely understand that in a busy world, kids' time are spread out among a wide variety of demanding activities. My goal is to make their music experience a joy that will establish an enrichment in their evolving lives that they will look back on fondly for many years. I teach children of all ages (this includes adults as well!) and levels, with a strong focus on the fundamentals of music, lots of sight reading and an introduction to music theory. As well as holding several recitals throughout the year at different local venues, my students also enjoy various workshops and get-togethers (i.e. pizza parties!) to keep their motivations high. I have been teaching for seven years and I am also an active performer with various professional symphonies around the Pacific Northwest. Please contact me to set up an interview!
