Super fast balloon twisting for large events with a line of kids. And for events that are slower, more complex creations.
A. Usually I get hired for balloon twisting. I make single balloon animals in 15 - 20 sec. so I can work a long line very fast. Plus I can make more complex creations for smaller groups. And I am really good with the kids, from years of teaching and entertaining.
I have also been hired to teach a lesson on making balloon animals, to small groups. On occasion I get hired for magic shows. And a few times for general silliness as a walk around jester at large events. A new thing I now do at events is teaching a lesson on juggling scarfs.
I will also work with people to custom make the entertainment so you get the experience you want.
As well, I know lots of other top notch entertainers I can subcontract if you have a large event or are in need of other talent.
A. My advice is to look for people who are good communicators, are upbeat and cheerful, and are friendly and approachable (like I am). Try to look at pictures and make sure they have professional looking outfits (like mine) and not lame or ratty old pajamas or blue jeans with holes in them. A good performer takes pride in every aspect of their craft. As an example, I almost never except food at gigs. The reason is that sometimes I spill food on my cloths and I am not willing to risk having a stain on my outfit at a gig. Unless I am in my rainbow tie dye outfit. Heh, tie dye hides just about any stain!
A. My personality sets me apart from the pack. I am friendly, outgoing, approachable, articulate, and intelligent. I have been teaching kids (and adults) and doing presentations and performing for 20 years. I am a real people person and always create a fun environment where ever I go.
Plus, I know how to make 100s of animals and can make a a large number of them in 15 - 20 seconds. I can work a line faster than most and still have kids choosing the animal they want and the color. And only saying no to animals like octopuses and lobsters, that take way to long to make. This is tops for big festivals with 100s of kids and a never ending line.
A. I like making people smile. I have never met someone I could not make smile. Even kids that try not to smile crack under pressure from my silliness.
I can not imagination a better job that making people happy. To me its the best thing in the world. Maybe that is why I am so good at it, because I love it and its a joy to do. One thing is for sure, I will brighten up a room and lift a mood at any party, event, or gathering. I just wish I had more hands sometimes, since at gigs where the line super long, I would love to be able to crank out balloon animals faster. I hate it when the kids have to stand in a long line.
A. People ask me; "what is the hardest thing you know how to make?" And I say "a rock!"
A. I did not choose this, it choose me. I am a natural and a born entertainer, I really had no choice. No matter how hard I try to do other jobs, I always seem to come back to entertaining. I just love it and I seem to be able to make it happen.
A. I think the coolest job I have ever done was the roll out ceremony for the Boing Dreamliner. I was at the museum there about 100 yards from the hanger with the first plane and during the gig I got to watch it "roll out" for the ceremony. I was the only twister there. Good thing I can make a few airplanes.
A. I average $100 per hour plus a $50 travel and materials fee for bigger or longer distance events.
I am willing to work with people if they have a budget and I always give multi hour discounts.
