Chris and the crew at DDIY are great! As a real estate professional I encounter lots of situations where we need something fixed before a closing, or need painting work done before a home goes on the market. They are always on time and do an excellent job. I recommend them to all my clients!

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Don't hire just anyone! We get to fix a lot of work that was done really badly and it was usually done by the lowest bidder that really wasn't skilled enough to be doing the work. When you are looking at getting work done around your home, shop for quality not the lowest bidder. It will cost you less in the long run.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. First and foremost is if they are licensed and insured! Hiring unlicensed workers is a huge risk to a homeowner because something as simple as a fall off a ladder or a cut can wind up costing huge amounts of money. The liability is just too great to hire someone without the proper licensing and insurance.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I would have to say that our commitment to doing the work right is at the top of the list. Too often we see other contractor's work and it is just a little too sloppy for our liking. We believe that taking the time to do any project right is a better value in the end, even if it means having to take more time. Aside from that, I would have to say using quality materials and using as many that are made in the USA as possible. As Americans, we should be really doing all we can to support our national economy and not sending our dollars to China via the big box home improvement stores. The down side for us is a little more work in sourcing products from time to time, but the reward is definitely worth it!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. What we love best is that excited moment when our clients get to see our completed projects. There is a moment when the walk in and their eyes light up and say "It's beautiful! I love it!" that really makes all the effort we put in worth it.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. The question I hear most is "What do you think of these colors?" That is such a tough one for me because everyone's tastes are different. We have one client whose whole home is just barely off white. I hate the color scheme, but he loves it and the whole house is decorated to match.
