We offer Japanese martial arts classes to adults and youths:

- Aikido
- Kenjutsu (sword)
- Jojutsu (staff)

Our practice makes better people, not just better fighters.

Aikido is a non-competitive and defense-oriented art that can be practiced by anyone, regardless of physical condition.

It is worth checking out if you are looking for an alternative to the legions of "belt factory" schools that have become ubiquitous in local shopping centers.

Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Aikido is unlike most martial practices, in that what we do is about partnership, communication and developing positive interactions. Most martial arts focus on teaching people how to hit (or hurt) others, or they are practiced as a competitive sport, where one person must "lose" so that the other can "win". In Aikido your partner helps you to grow and you help your partner. People learn about cooperation and teamwork and everyone improves, without competition.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I get to work with a great group of people every day. Our dojo (School) is like a large family. People care about each other. It is very rewarding to watch people progress and grow.
The school itself is also unique, and very beautiful. It's a calming place to be. I love walking in and spending time there.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "Can someone like "Me" do this?" I always answer, "YES!"
Anyone can learn the principles and work on the curriculum of Aikido. This practice at a spiritual level SHOULD be for everyone. The throws and pins are a lot of fun too. I found that punching and kicking for years tends to get boring, but interaction, connection and throws with people seems to just get more interesting as the years pass by.
