A. Word of mouth is the best recommendation! Definitely check out any business you are doing business with, especially financial transactions. Check out any company with the Better Business Bureau and with the State Attorney General's Office.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. The best benefit consumers get is a significantly-reduced interest rate. It's not that hard to get set-up on a debt management program, and the national credit card companies all work with credit counseling. It doesn't take a few months to get started. Get started now!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. How long have you been in business? Can you tell me exactly what my monthly payment will be? What will the interest rates on the credit cards go down to? Please tell me what fees I can expect-- what is the start-up fee and what is my monthly fee?

thank you laura for all your work you have done for me and my family !!! you took quite a fight and burden off us. consumer credit&debt counceling solution took my high interest bill with a very high payment and got my interest down to 9.9%. city finance, through sears hit me up with a large amount deffered interest that was not told to me when i opened,after pleading with sears for hours i found laura and she took right over . she also helped my family out with simular problems. i highly recommend this agency linda
