Great guy, awesome service, I couldn't have be happier! I actually have referred a few of my friends to the same person. He helped me so much when I couldn't get my computer running. Only took him about 15 minutes! I was amazed and glad to finally be able to use my computer again.

Thank you so much! Good luck!

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Things the average computer user cannot do. However, it is more or less than would not trust themselves doing it and not breaking something.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Patience is needed, as typically many repairs can take time simply due to the speed of the PC or the extent of the problem(s). Older or slower computers are typically the most common reason because of clutter and the lack of a quality anti-virus has gotten an old computer moving even slower. This takes a lot of time to implement fixes and get the computer going to it's normal speed again. Faster computers with simply virus issues can be more of a hassle, rather than time consuming, but patience is always going to be key!

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. You have to know the right people. There is a lot you can learn by simply asking questions, or even using tools like Google. However, to really get inside and know in-depth knowledge with technology, you have to know the right people in the right line of work. An associate of mine has done work for Microsoft, Adobe, and other private contractors. I find him to be a big part of how I got to where I am now. He has helped me with problems I have had on my own PC I couldn’t directly figure out because I have never experienced the problem in the past. It has given me more knowledge to do my job to the fullest.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. If you can find this information out, it helps, if not I will do my best!
Brand of Computer including model number.
Operating System
Processor Brand, Model, and Speed
Memory, Type and Speed.
Video Card, if any.
As much about what is going on as you can possibly describe to the best of your ability.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I am more than happy to explain what I am doing, where others have gone wrong, and be able to describe to you things about your computer in real words. I also will not charge for work that takes time simply because of an older or slower computer. This has been wonderful to a few customers of mine who have very old PCs that required a lot of work, I spent nearly 3+ hours with them and didn’t charge for that time simply because the PC was taking a long time to finish one task. This saves my customers $50-$100 or more.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Satisfied customers that can't thank me enough for the work I do for them. It is a great feeling knowing you saved someone a lot of money by them not having to go to some shady computer shop that might charge the person double, if not more for the same work. Most say that they were considering buying a new computer, but I am able to do a needs analysis and typically fix things for them in a way that their current computer or laptop can last them much longer. So when the time comes, a high quality computer will be even cheaper.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How did you become so good with computers?
- Simply being curious, and a little trial and error over a number of years.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It's not nearly as easy as we make it look. How different everything is comes to be a problem quite often. Also remember people are different, most computer techs are nerds/geeks and will talk and treat you that way. However, there are others, like myself, that can give it to you in a real world sense so you don't seem so lost in all the technical language.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Just kind of naturally got into as I became better and better with computers.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. Recently worked on a Macbook that had water damage. The laptop would not start or charge, the customer thought he was going to lose everything on a computer he had just purchased. I was able to save the customer over $700 by testing the hard drive and determining the exact problem with the Macbook. Got the replacement part in a few days and had less than a week turn around. The customer was overly appreciative for the fast service and amount he was able to save.

Jobs like this are why I love doing what I do.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Always stay on top of the latest news in all aspects including hardware, software, viruses, etc. This is the only way to know what may come up with future customers. Identifying the problem is half the battle, fixing it is normally simple enough or can be researched quickly.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. Not much has changed other than more advanced technology, which could potentially result in more advanced viruses or worse.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. What I typically do for my pricing is the amount of work, and the difficulty I find in doing it. So if it is a simple job, but takes awhile, I wont charge as much as I would for something with more of a challenge.
